Fiji

Bula!

Tired after all the travelling & very tired of the rain, I decided to do the lazy thing and just stay on 1 island for my week in Fiji. Being really lazy I had booked Beachcomber island (at the suggestion of some travellers I met) up front and arranged for pick-up and everything….

Little did I know that I had just sentenced myself to a week of Benidorm! Beachcomber island has some nice huts, which views (thanks to Collin) I got to enjoy during my first days. Abusing his terras all day sunbathing, reading and just warming up again. My dormroom, however, was slightly different. The biggest I´ve seen so far, with 46 bunkbeds, housing 98 people in one dorm!

I´ve tried some diving, but wasn´t that impressed at all (apperently I´ve missed to right spots in Fiji) so I gave up and do what all people do when they head for the Costa del Sol…

Trying to get a tan and Party Party Party!
Having met a group of really nice people made my life easy. Snorkling, swimming, tanning and oh yeah… just a wheeh bit of drinking & partying ;-) (hanging out with Aussies and Irish is quite a lethal combination). On my last night I gave in and even did the Bula dance! Now of course I´m bitching about it, like a propper backpacker should, but you all know me better than that. I had a blast!

And another climate shock…

This morning I safely arrived on the little island Beachcomber which is about 20 km from Fiji’s main island… and here I was thinking flying from Asia into winter was a shock… well the other way around is one too!

But one I will now go and slowly enjoy on a incredibly white beach ;-)
